Still ours to Tell

The sun is sinking, and the horizon fades,

Morning dawns, and the whole world wakes.
Now that darkness holds the baton,
My heart still aches, but I'll be okay.

I know the way home just like I always knew.
It doesn't matter what tomorrow brings,
Because I'm here now with you.

I can see that for both of us,
It's getting harder to go on.
It's a bittersweet story,
But it's still ours to tell.

When we speak about you,
I'll always say
You changed my life for the better.

Even though these days are hard,
My love for you will never change.
You showed me what life is all about,
And made every moment worth the wait.

If the night should steal the light,
I'll carry every memory we made.
Every laugh, every tear, every silent prayer
Will forever guide my way.

I can see that for both of us,
It's getting harder to go on.
Still, our story lives inside my heart,
A melody that carries on.

When I speak about you,
I'll always say
You changed my life forever.
And no matter where tomorrow leads,
My love will always stay.

You showed me what life is all about,
You gave my heart a place to stay.
Through every season, every dawn,
You'll be the light that leads my way.

Though time may pass and days may change,
One truth will never fade—
Loving you has made this life
Forever worth the wait.

Adam and the Lonely Backpack

After finishing their shopping, Adam and his mom stopped by a small second-hand store near home. While Mom looked through a rack of coats, Adam wandered toward a bin of old bags and backpacks.

Suddenly, he heard a tiny, muffled voice.

“Oh… hello there.”

Adam knelt down. At the bottom of the bin, half-hidden under a faded lunchbox, was a small blue backpack with a zipper that looked a little stuck.

“Hi!” Adam said softly. “Did you just talk to me?”

“I did,” whispered the backpack. “I’m sorry—I don’t meet many people who can hear me. Most just walk right past.”

Adam gently pulled the backpack out. “Why are you in this bin all alone?”

“I’ve been here for weeks,” said the backpack sadly. “My last owner grew up and didn’t need me anymore. I miss carrying books and pencils and feeling useful. But… my main zipper is a little stiff. People see that and put me back down.”

Adam stroked the fabric. “You’re not broken. You just need a little care.”

Just then, Mom came over. “What did you find, sweetie?”

“Mom, this backpack is lonely. It wants a new home. Can we get it?”

Mom knelt and examined the backpack. “Well, the zipper does stick a bit. Are you sure it’s the one you want?”

“Yes,” Adam said. “I talked to it. It told me it used to love going to school. And it promised to carry my library books if I promise to be gentle with its zipper.”

Mom smiled. “That’s a very kind reason. Let me check the inside pockets—make sure there are no rips and that it’s clean.” She opened the main compartment, found it dusty but otherwise fine, and nodded. “Okay. We can wash it at home and maybe put a little wax on the zipper. I think this backpack just needs some love.”

Adam hugged the backpack gently. “Did you hear that? You’re coming home with us!”

The backpack’s voice perked up. “Really? Oh, thank you, Adam! I’ll be the best backpack you’ve ever had.”

As they paid at the counter, Adam held the backpack against his chest. Mom put her hand on his shoulder. “You have a gift, Adam. Not everyone listens to things the way you do.”

“I just think everything wants to be loved,” Adam said.

And that night, after Mom fixed the zipper, the little blue backpack sat proudly on Adam’s desk, ready for its very first adventure with its new best friend.

Adam and His Adventures with Things: The Brave Little Kite

One breezy Saturday morning, Adam hurried into his garage searching for something fun to do. Hanging on the wall was a bright red kite with long blue ribbons dancing beneath it.

The kite suddenly spoke in a cheerful voice. “Adam, are we finally going flying today?”

Adam laughed softly. “Yes, we are. The wind is perfect outside.”

Beside the kite sat an old skateboard leaning against a dusty box. Its wheels squeaked as it spoke. “Flying sounds exciting, but don’t forget the wind can be tricky.”

The kite fluttered proudly. “I’m not afraid of a little wind!”

Adam carried both the kite and the skateboard to the big park near his neighbourhood. The trees swayed gently, and clouds drifted lazily across the bright sky. Families were picnicking while children raced across the grass.

“Ready?” Adam asked.

The kite wiggled with excitement. “Ready!”

Adam ran as fast as he could, holding the string tightly. At first, the kite stumbled and dipped toward the ground.

“Oh dear!” cried the kite. “Maybe I can’t fly after all.”

From below, the old skateboard called out, “Every great ride starts with a wobble. Try again!”

Adam smiled and kept running. This time, the wind caught the kite perfectly. Up, up, and higher it soared, dancing gracefully across the sky.

“I’m flying!” the kite shouted happily.

The blue ribbons twirled behind it like waves in the air. Birds passed nearby as if welcoming the kite into the clouds.

Meanwhile, Adam sat on the skateboard and rolled gently along the park path, laughing as the cool breeze brushed past him. The skateboard groaned playfully. “Careful on the turns, kid.”

As the afternoon sun began to lower, Adam reeled the kite back down. Its bright red surface was dusty now, and one ribbon had a tiny tear, but the kite looked proud.

“You were right,” the kite admitted to the skateboard. “The wind was tricky.”

The skateboard chuckled. “That’s how adventures work.”

Adam packed both of them carefully under his arms and walked home smiling.

Some things, he realised, were happiest when they were finally given the chance to do what they were made for.

Adam and His Adventures with Things

It is a beautiful sunny day, and Adam wants to play football with his friends, he has two balls, one is old and one is new.
His new ball asked; will you be playing on a good nice field?
Adam replied; yes we will be playing on the school's grounds.

Adam grinned as he tucked both balls under his arms—the old one, worn and familiar, its patches telling stories of countless games, and the shiny new one, still gleaming with anticipation. The new ball buzzed with excitement, its surface catching the sunlight. "School grounds? That sounds perfect!" it chimed, practically bouncing in Adam’s grip.

The old ball chuckled, its voice raspy but warm. "Just wait till you meet the muddy puddles near the goalposts. You’ll lose that polish quick."

As they arrived, the field stretched out green and inviting, dotted with wildflowers at the edges. Adam’s friends soon flooded in, laughter echoing as they split into teams. The new ball soared in smooth arcs during the first kick, while the old one rolled proudly, steering with seasoned precision.

By afternoon, both balls were grass-stained and happy, the new one learning the rhythm of the game, the old one reliving its glory. Adam high-fived his friends, the sun dipping gold behind them. Some days, he thought, were best spent with loyal companions—whether they had laces, patches, or squeaky new smiles.

Adam and His Adventures with Things

As Adam wanders through the store with the colourful body lotion bottle in hand, he soon spots his mom in the next aisle, scanning the shelves for items on her shopping list. Adam approaches her excitedly.
Adam: Mom! Mom! Look what I found!
Mom: Oh, hi sweetie. I was wondering where did you go? What do you have there?
Adam: This is my new friend! I want to buy this body lotion. It’s so colourful and nice.
Mom: Oh, that is a pretty bottle. But you know we have to make sure it’s good for your skin first. Is there something special about this one?
Adam: Yes, Mom! I can talk to things, and this lotion was telling me about its day.
Mom: Oh, really? That’s quite the special talent you have, Adam. What did the lotion say about its day?
Adam: Well, it was just telling me that yesterday wasn’t the best day. It had a little trouble when someone squeezed it too hard, which wasn’t very pleasant.
Mom: I see. It’s good to know that you’re a friendly lotion who cares about being handled gently.
Adam: Yeah, and I told the lotion it could be my friend!
Mom: Well, that’s something! If you really like it and it’s good for your skin, I suppose we can get it. But remember, we still need to check if it’s suitable for you.
Mom: Alright then, let’s take a look at the label and make sure it’s perfect for you. If everything looks good, we can take it home.
Adam: Yay! I’m so excited! Thank you, Mom.
Mom: You’re welcome, sweetheart. Let’s check out and get this new friend of yours home.
The mom examines the label, reassured by the ingredients, and they proceed to the checkout. As they leave the store, Adam is thrilled about his new friend, and the kids’ body lotion is happy to have found a new home with a kind and friendly boy.

Honesty

I was well-known for my honesty among everyone who knows me; I just do not like to tell a lie, I feel so bad when I lie, so I prefer not to talk if I am in a situation that it is no way but lie. I also firmly believe that people who talk too much they must have done too much lying. So there were many events that I have been brought forward to tell exactly what happened if I was a witness to something they all turn to me and ask what had happened because they are sure I will be truthful, everybody I dealt with for some time will know that I am honest, and do not like to cheat, for example; at work we usually write our working hours at the end of the day, I always write the exact time that I left work, some co-workers write more time than they actually worked. I do not know why I am like that may be the way I was brought up, even though my brothers and sisters are not like me. Honesty is hard all the time, but we should try our best to be truthful and, honest most of the time.

Beautiful Friend

I have very few friends; one of my best friends is Khalid, he is the best friend I could ever have, he is nice, courageous, considerate, generous, supportive. He has a positive attitude all the time, smiling, courteous, I remember when I passed one of my exams once I told him he hugged me and exclaimed "you did it, you did it". He is always advising me to do or choose whatever is good for me, he never hesitated to support me in any situation; I thank God for such a friend, and I will never forget him, and I will do my best to help him if he ever needed my help.

My Sisters

I have 2 sisters; one older than me and the other is younger, older sister is married and has 3 kids, two boys and a girl, she is the best sister I could ever have; she is soft, kind, helpful, smart, patient, and supportive. Her youngest child has down's syndrome; she is so kind and patient to him, she never complains about this that she is taking care of her family including her sick child; I consider her my hero for her strength and determination to study, work, taking care of, and support her family, I would do my very best to make her happy.
My other sister is the opposite; she is selfish, always complains, never likes her situation, even though she has a much more easy life than my older sister, but she always wants more and more, I love her as my sister, but I never like her attributes.

My Travels

I have been to many countries; my personality is not very social, but I like to know and learn new things; to have an idea about many places and people of this world. I went to Italy, The United Kingdom, the United States of America, Japan, Germany, France, Tunisia, Egypt, Turkey, Brazil, and Canada. Each country is a unique experience because people are different in so many things, for example, I like the politeness of the Japanese, the landscape in Canada and the USA, the British accent, Pyramids in Egypt, Generous people of Tunisia, Food in France and Italy, German humbleness, Amazon forest in Brazil. I also know each country has a mix of most of these things.

I strongly believe that travel is one of the best schools in my life, it taught me so many exciting things not only about people and places but it taught me how to deal with different situations, to be patient, to be understanding, to accept and acknowledge that we are different.

Three Things to do to Live a Happy Life

1. Have faith; that is an unbreakable connection with God and complete trust that God with absolute knowledge about you and all your matters; so you should always ask God to help you in all your affairs whether it's good or bad.
2. Be honest; with yourself and all around you, being honest will spread love, trust, respect, understanding, comfort, goodness to you and all others, and you live with a clear conscience, it is not easy but it is very rewarding in the end.
3. Do what you love; in all your aspects of life, unless it's harmful to you or others, doing what you like most, or what you enjoy most, would give the best version of you, so you will be happy and make everyone else happy.

My Pigeon

At some point when I was a small kid I wanted to get a pigeon because I have seen my cousins have many pigeons of different kinds, I have never had one, they were trading and breeding them, so I thought it would be a good hoppy for me to try out. I had no knowledge whatsoever about pigeons, I tried to get some information from my cousin, he taught me a lot and offered to give me a little one to start with, to grow, and take care of. It was not a good experience for me and for the little pigeon; I put it in a small cottage-like place, I started to feed him, first of all, I was feeding so much food, so it might have bad indigestion, I felt like he was not happy, not moving good, maybe because he was heavy full of food, we had a cat in the house and I never thought that she would attack him, but unfortunately, she did and killed him, I was so sad and never thought about getting one again because I realize that pigeons need so much care and types of equipment to have a successful nice group of them.

Stop Complaining and Do it

We tend to blame someone or something for our own decisions or choices, in fact, we have no one to accuse but ourselves. It is very easy to put the blame on someone or on your situation, or on your bad fortune; if we use these things as an excuse, we will never do anything, we will never get to our dreams, it is never easy for almost everyone to get to the top.
In my case, I always pick my parents for my misfortune and regretful choices, to be honest, they have some percentage but the largest proportion is from my side, I chose to be what I am now, I chose this difficult road to walk on, I chose not to face my problems I chose to flee and not to come back.

Real Life

My childhood and adolescence were not like other kids, we have been raised in an environment most likely resembles a prison; not to talk to people, not to go anywhere by yourself or with friends,  not to go anyplace without help from anyone else or with companions, not to discuss or give your opinion on any subject even if that issue about you or not to examine or offer your input in any subject regardless of whether that issue about you or not.
So we have been detached from real life and confined from reality, not knowing how people think or behave in many matters and how to solve issues, not knowing how to act in many situations.
One Day when I was in my teen years, one of my friends came to my house inviting me to go with him and some of my other friends for a barbeque and a picnic beside the sea, I had to turn that down because I was sure that my parents would not let me go.

My Brother and Me

I have a brother who is two years younger than me, however, we were in every case together, working together, playing together, studying at the same school, mostly our friends are the same, he is substantially more speaker than me, fluent, cheerful, telling jokes, talkative, I ended up having fewer friends than him because people tend to like the person who speaks and amuses them than the one who is most serious and talks less frequently.
He is also kinder than me, in the sense of he is more open to forgiving and excusing than me, I tend to forgive but I like to take revenge and deliver retribution silently before forgiveness and complete absolution, not showing that I am angry or irritated, but in fact, I would be very upset and unpleasant with the person who used me or hurts me.

My Summers

When I was a kid; after school, every Summer, I and my brother go to our land beside the sea, it is a beautiful place and a lovely attractive spot,  but we go to work on the land, we  produce various kinds of crops and vegetables such as dates, parsley, potatoes, tomatoes, green pepper, etc and in addition to that, we herd sheep too.

There was a big festival in our town, it comes each Summer, we were waiting for it every time,  there was a small marketplace where some people sell toys and games, as well as there were different shows and artists from areas and towns near by.

Good Manners

I have been raised and taught that good manners are essential and they must be the way I deal with people; to respect elders, be kind to youngsters, be straightforward, be honest, do not cheat, everywhere I go should be the same in respect of dealing with people, interacting with others, no matter what happens I should put my good manners, principles, and standards first and act according to them.
