Sir John A.Macdonald unbroken his promise a few national railroads across Canada He employed Sandford Fleming in 1871. He began to measure the land for railroad routes across the country. He found 2 attainable routes.
Prime Minister Macdonald employed Van Horne and CPR Company to make the tracks. In 1881 construction began on the railroad. Sir William Cornelius Van Horne, the manager of Canadian Pacific Railways, secure to complete building the railroad in 10 years. He worked terribly exhausting and therefore the railroad was finished in 1885.
